I’ve mentioned before that I have made a small move into traditional media, and mostly this relates to my moleskine. I have ballpoint pens as well as a pigment ink pen that I use to draw with in this book. The thing I like about it is that it does not let me “undo” in any way, both tools are incredibly unforgiving and I feel it teaches me to work with my mistakes much more.
One prominent problem that appears when I do traditional is proportion mistakes – This is partially also because I almost always draw from my mind, but still! It’s helping me spotlight some issues to work on.
In addition it’s also good because it feels a lot lower pressure. Perhaps because I have always been a digital artist, and in traditional work I am a rookie.
