It’s strange how I am approaching half a year of art, and my current most annoying problem is that I don’t feel like I have the time to actually draw. Like, I started this year-long challenge to actually get the habit of drawing in, so that I could improve. To start with even drawing anything in a day was a major accomplishment for me as the inertia had been so strong in the past.
But now I feel frustrated that I can’t make leaps and bounds of progress in the few hours I have every day! I guess in it’s own way that is good, as I have a lot more passion for my art at this point, but I want to get past just posting sketches at some point…
I guess for now weekends are my best outlet, I can’t really dedicate any more than an hour or two to my art on weekdays, and sometimes I am just too exhausted to put in more creative effort – But I still do it, dammit. Today was kind of one of those days, and I wanted to share a small sketch I did at lunch.
That said I did work on the second comic page today, I am kind of at an impasse as far as artstyle goes, the sketch and layout is largely done but I need to nail down a style I can actually manage to do once a week. – Currently it is lineart and colours, which is a lot of work! May have to revert back to the safety of relatively sketchy looking pages.
