Day 101: Definition

Bit of a delayed post, sorry!
Came across an interesting problem today, when I wanted to indicate a light source, but the light source was directly behind the character – Indicating that in the same colour, or a slightly darker shade made it virtually indistinguishable from the background lightsource..

So the solution seems to be a sort of faked “lineart”, a indication line that informs your eye that this has contrast, that the object infront of the light is obscuring it in a way that allows it to be distinguishable while it is also highlit quite strongly.
I don’t think I’ve perfected the technique in this update, but I think with a little more lighting effects I can really make it pop.
